Vote to Re-Elect Barbara Wojnicki - Your Republican Candidate for Kane County Board

Open Space Preservation

With open space and farmland fast disappearing, Barbara Wojnicki has long joined in the fight to protect and preserve Kane County's rural heritage.

Not only does this provide our children with countryside, parks, and nature areas to play and grow in, it also preserves our community's land from development.

This in turn manages growth and reduces the expansion of costly public services that growth entails, saving taxpayer dollars in the process.

Campton Open Space Acquisitions in County Board District 15:

  • Gray Willows Farm

  • Brown Road Meadows

  • Headwaters of Blackberry Creek

  • Harley Woods (on Beith Road)

  • Mongerson Historic Kame

  • Poynor Park

Below are some excerpts of comments on Barb's open space work from constituents and in the media over the years, as well as some pictures of local nature:

"You have always shown yourself to be a hard working, diligent representative to all of us in Campton."   "Just a heart-felt thank you for all the work you put into the open space program and Forest Preserve. Thank you so much!"

"I'd like to express our thanks to you for your continued work in the purchase of open land for the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. We support your efforts and money spent to keep these lands and trees for others to enjoy."   "Your encouragement has helped inspire us to continue fighting to keep La Fox from becoming another casualty of urban sprawl."

"...thanks to behind the scenes efforts by County Board Member Barb Wojnicki, who worked 11 years to keep the owners interested in eventually taking the property public...[it] made the impossible reality."

Campton Hills Examiner, March 17, 2010

"I really appreciate all your hard work for us all - Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks for the support of Garfield."
